Loved this. I recently wrote a post about breaking up with Central Square because Rodney's is closing and it's just not the same. I couldn't bring myself to go into Rodney's today; I felt like a looter. Crazy how that happens. Anyway, I loved all the visuals and he was a great voice in the background. And that woman who did her Catholic hand crossing thing, I see her all the time. Thanks for reminding me when Tello's and Gap were still around. Those were the days.

I think it has a lot to do with the recent emergence of the field. I mean, applying communications studies and media theory with learning has only become mainstream in the last 5 or 6 years, I think.

Perhaps programs like ours are looking for qualified instructors who can link these fields together (like you and I : )

In the meantime, I suggest you look at courses in the communications studies department, particularly with Jarice Hanson. They have do a lot with tech culture.

I agree Jason, What does the T stand for in LMT anyway? I'm just surprised that I learn more about technology in a day of following up on Tweets than a day of classes. Has anyone ever told you about ISTE or NECC? Why isn't there a class called "Wikis,blogs & more", or "Dynamic Facilitations", or "Virtual Environments for Higher Education", or "Building your Professional Learning Network" and on and on. Are you motivated to take the class on Motivation? Sorry to complain on your blog, but I'm slightly frustrated myself...

dude glad you enjoyed the mix.

we are talking about the same thing. I completely agree with you on this band and their backwards approach to reinventing the music scene. There's really no such thing as "Rock" music anymore, and to limit yourself to such genre is the equivalent of a character actor who only plays the villain in everything he's in. They need to broaden their horizons a little. Their music isn't bad, nor are they bad musicians but I don't see their sound going further than an Irish pub.
